domain transfer

    hello, I have a query regarding the domain transfer, I have two option either to transfer the domain or to map the domain. Under the ‘ Transfer domain option’ I am told that Domain extension will be done by 1 year so, My query is will I be charged for the domain extension?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    Transferring a domain to WordPress.com requires a paid plan. The cost of the domain transfer, which includes the cost of the domain renewal, is included for free with the plan for one domain. If you want to transfer additional domains, to transfer cost for each includes the renewal cost.

    Also note it’s not possible to opt out and say you don’t want to renew the domain so you can pay less – any time any domain is transferred between domain providers, that will always include a domain renewal, as that’s the process prescribed by ICANN, the organisation that regulates all domains on the web.
