Users can register domains or transfer domains to WordPress.com from the list of available TLD’s. Here is the link to the page that will help you to know more about the domains you wish to transfer:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/Like .co.nz is not the available TLD in the list mentioned on the page I linked above. So, you can’t transfer this domain to WordPress.com. But you still can use this domain on the WordPress.com website.
This can be done by mapping your existing domain to your WordPress.com website. Mapping a domain means your domain will be registered under your old registrar but will be accessing your site on WordPress.com. To know more about this feature please refer to the link below:

We don’t support .co.nz domain registrations and transfers on WordPress.com, but you can still use the domain by connecting it to your WordPress.com site. The instructions for that are on this page: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/One thing to note is that your site will need a paid plan in order to use a custom domain.
