    Hi there!

I just checked the domain’s WHOIS record, and I see that it is still locked. If you click here to view the domain’s WHOIS, you will see under “Status” that it reads clientTransferProhibited. That status indicates the domain is still locked at of now.

I’d suggest logging into your GoDaddy account and following the instructions here to unlock the domain and get the authorization code: https://www.godaddy.com/help/transfer-my-domain-away-from-godaddy-3560

You can also contact GoDaddy via live chat or email support, as they may have misheard the domain you mentioned via call and looked up a different domain.

Once the domain is unlocked and you have the transfer code, you can follow the steps here.

May I know which WordPress.com plan you were looking to purchase? Feel free to tell us a bit more about the site you’d like to build with us. This will help us understand your site goals and suggest the best plan for you.

    Regards

Awesome will look more into it, thanks for the help. Looking to start an online store for our brick and mortar business. Is the only real benefit to transferring the domain ease of billing since you’ll be registering and hosting with one service ?

  • In addition to what you’ve mentioned there are other benefits of having WordPress.com as your domain registrar. We include security items like an SSL which you’d have to pay additional funds for with other providers. We also have great support for our customers so you would benefit from that for the domain as well as your project.
