Once the 60 days are up, will transferring my domain to WordPress, on the personal plan, be free?
If you already own a domain with another provider that’s less than 60 days old and you upgrade to the WordPress.com Personal plan (yearly), you will have the option to connect your domain so that you can use it right away without having to wait 60 days.
When the domain is eligible for transfer, you will be able to transfer it for free by using the free domain credit you get with all our yearly paid plans. The free domain credit is valid for the first year only, and connecting a domain does not use up the credit. That means when you’re ready to transfer your domain, you can do so without paying.
Additionally, once transferred, will I have that domain free for one year on the personal plan?
Yes. We’ll renew the domain after the transfer is completed, so you’ll get one year’s domain registration, which is included with a yearly Personal plan.
Can my email address, associated with the transferred domain, be transferred as well from my prior provider?
Do you have an existing email service provider that you’d like to continue using? May I know who the provider is?
You can consider switching to Professional Email, our email service that is free for the first three months.
