Domain Transfer
-
I was hoping to see about transferring my domain from GoDoDaddy to WordPress. When I tried to do this on WordPress a message came up saying I cannot transfer, just connect. I’m wondering why this is and if it would still be worthwhile making the shift if I can’t transfer? Thanks very much

Hi there,
Although we support the registration of .co.uk domains, we currently don’t support the transfer of such domains from other providers. That’s why you’re seeing a message to connect your domain.
Connecting your domain is an alternative to transferring. What this means is that you’d keep your domain with GoDaddy but point it to your WordPress.com site. So, in essence, your site would still appear at your chosen address (roseheartyroughcasters.co.uk); it’s just that the domain would continue to be hosted by GoDaddy.
You can find detailed instructions on how to connect your domain to your WordPress site here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
We’re always here to help you out, so if you have any trouble or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.
