Hello, today I launched my website and subscribed to a basic plan so that I could transfer a domain from shopify to wordpress. I’ve since renewed (it was going to expire on the 30th) and unlocked the domain on shopify, and I received my code to transfer; but so far I have been unable to complete the transfer process and keep getting the ‘Your domain is still locked. If you’ve already unlocked it, wait a few minutes and try again’ message. It has been over 30 minutes now and I am concerned that there may be an issue.

Thanks so much for reaching out. It can indeed take a little while for the domain unlock process to complete after it’s been initiated.
I can see here that the domain peachwicks.ca is registered with us and working well. Was the domain you’re looking to transfer to us peachwicks.com?

Yes the domain I’m trying to transfer is peachwicks.com. I’ve checked again today to see if it says unlocked, but it’s still giving me the same message.

Hi @carleehughes97, I’m still seeing this on my side too:
Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited Domain Status: clientUpdateProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientUpdateProhibitedWe can’t transfer them with that status in place. Can you contact Shopify to see why it’s not unlocking properly? They should be able to spot whatever is blocking it. Once that status lifts, you should be able to initiate the transfer.
This may be helpful info, too; basically, you should still be able to transfer, but you’ll want to hurry.

So support got back to me, and despite appearing to have been unlocked on their end – when they checked internally there was an issue which has since been resolved and now the transfer is in progress. That being said, when I purchased the plan to launch my website here – it included a free transfer (from what I understood) and unfortunately it didn’t end up being free because of the delay… so my final question is would I be able to get a refund for that additional charge?

Sorry to hear about the domains confusion, that sounds pretty frustrating! On this end I’ve refunded the transfer as it should have been uncharged. You can confirm here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
Refunds can officially take 7-10 business days, but depending on your credit card you may not see it for a billing cycle or two, so you may need to check with them to confirm.
