Domain Transfer
-
I originally had our domain registered with Wix.com and was planning on using them to design our website, however, I was not pleased with what they were advertising and decided to use wordpress instead. We had already purchased a domain with wix, we have requested the transfer that has been approved, and updated the nameservers in wordpress, but the website is still not live. Our web address is laiglesiaapostolica.org. When I put the address in the browser, it redirects me to wix. How do I complete this process to have our website live?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out!
It looks like the following A Records, are at play, which are causing this redirect:
- 185.230.63.107
- 185.230.63.171
- 185.230.63.186
Removing these here: https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/laiglesiaapostolica.org/dns/laiglesiaapostolica.wordpress.com > Click on the three dots > delete.
Once deleted, it should then be possible to view the site. You may need to set the primary domain, which can be made via Upgrades > Domains > click on a domain > Make Primary.
I hope this helps!

Tried everything as you directed, still did not work. Another question, does the name servers need to be directed to WordPress or to differente name servers? We purchased the domain from another company, so should it use their name servers?
-
I just noticed that on Whois.com the name servers are directed back to WordPress, however, our website, laiglesiaapostolica.org is still rerouting us to the wix website?

When I visit your domain I see “Blog at WordPress.com”. so you probably just need to refresh your browser.

Still having an issue with the link button directing me to the right page. I noticed that my Actividades button is the one that points to a wordpress url. All the others are pointing to the url for the website domain. How do I change the url to point to the right page?
-
I checked all your links, and they all point to a page in your WordPress.com-hosted site. If you’re still having issues loading the correct plage, please clear your browser’s cache and try again. https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

Still having the same issue after clearing history. Is the permalink connected to a “parent page?” Under page attributes in the editing portion for each page it is blank where the parent page is and also every page is assigned to the 0 order. Could that be the issue. We really need our site to start operating THIS WEEK. I am trying everything you guys are saying, but still not working properly. Thanks,

Can you please let me know exactly which menu items are pointing to your old website so that I can have a closer look? Thanks!
-
The only website we have had is with WordPress. The menu items are, Ministerios, Historia, Lo que creemos, Contactenos, Peticiones de Oración. They are all pointing to the menu item page for Actividades. The links appear correct, but when I touch the permalink it goes to the Actividades page on all of the menu buttons. The online menu item that works is Dar which is pointing to another web address and Actividades.

Hi @laiglesiaapostolica, it looks like you removed the “content block” from your page template. The content block is the space where your page content will appear, and if you remove it and replace it (in this case with a form) every page will just show that.
We’ve hoped that showing a warning when you remove it would help. Can you confirm whether you saw that, and maybe share more about what you had in mind when you removed it? Any feedback you can share would be helpful.
In the meantime, the easiest fix is to reset the page template. You may want to reset your index template as well, since it seems to have a similar problem. Here’s how:
Template parts are pieces of a layout that can be reused across multiple areas of your site. The site header and footer are common template parts typically included with your theme. This guide will show you how to create and control the template parts on your site. About Template Parts If your site uses a theme that supports the site editor, you can use template parts. A quick way to deterOr, you can re-add the content block to each template you removed it from. Here’s how to go about that.
Again, if you’ve got feedback (your thought process when removing the content block, etc) please do send that! We’ll get it to the design team. Cheers!
