Domain Transfer
-
We recently transferred domain from Squarespace and now the transfer is complete and it’s now active. However, when I tried pointing it to WordPress.com and using it as a Primary Address, I cannot access our pages and the homepage goes back to the Squarespace site. There is also a Jetpack error now.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I’ve checked it, and while the domain is connected here, some DNS A records make the domain point to Squarespace.
You need to reset your A records to point the domain to WordPress.com. You can do this by going here and following what’s indicated below:

After that, you can set the domain 5staredugrp.com as the primary domain of your site by following this:Your primary site address is the domain that people will see in their browser’s address bar when visiting your site. It is the address you use to promote your website. Requirements To use a domain as your site’s primary address, you will need: A domain registered or connected to WordPress.com. Any paid WordPress.com plan. With a paid WordPress.com plan, you can set a custom do
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this, don’t hesitate to let us know! -
When I tried making the domain, this error popped up:
The Jetpack site is inaccessible or returned an error: Jetpack: [http_request_failed] cURL error 60: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘5staredugrp.com’ [-10520]
And then when I tried accessing 5staredugrp.com, this is what happened:

Hey there,
Can you clarify what you mean by “making the domain” when you received the Jetpack error?
It looks like the SSL certificate was not provisioned for this domain, likely because of the Squarespace A records. I am now seeing an SSL certificate for the domain and it is successfully connected. You should be all set, and if you would like to make it your primary address you can do so following our instructions here:
Your primary site address is the domain that people will see in their browser’s address bar when visiting your site. It is the address you use to promote your website. Hi, sorry, I meant when I tried making the domain my primary site address, that’s where the Jetpack error pops up. Right now I tried changing it again and fortunately, there’s no more Jetpack errors but when I try to set 5staredugrp.com as my primary site address, it still says “connection is not private” in my browser

I tried making 5staredugrp.com as a primary address again but this message popped up again:
The Jetpack site is inaccessible or returned an error: Jetpack: [http_request_failed] cURL error 60: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘5staredugrp.com’ [-10520]

Hi there,
This can sometimes be an issue when domain settings are in transition, since there can be a delay until they fully take effect. On our end it seems the domain settings for 5staredugrp.com are correct now (I see no A Records sending traffic elsewhere) and I am able to successfully visit your site if I set this as your primary domain

Can you share the URL of the page you are on where you see the Jetpack error message? I have taken a look at the admin areas of your site but I could not spot it on my own.
Thanks for the additional info!

Hi, there are no more Jetpack errors when I checked the settings and the domain is working correctly too on my end. Thanks so much for your help!
