  You’ll need to make sure the domain is unlocked and ready for transfer. If you need help with unlocking the domain, please contact your current domain registrar. Only they can help you with this.

  I also recommend upgrading to a yearly WordPress.com plan, as you’ll get a free domain credit with the yearly plan to transfer-in your domain. We’ll renew the domain for one year after the transfer. A WordPress.com plan is required to set your custom domain as the primary address on your site, so you’ll want to upgrade.
