Domain transfer

I am trying to transfer my domain. I had an external website company create my website, so they were using my domain. Now when I talk to the chatbot, it says my domain is connected to WordPress via Jetpack. It suggested I talk to a human to get my authorization code, but then said I had to have a paid plan. When I go through the instructions to get my code, I get two messages 1. This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.
2. This domain is already registered. Do you own this domain? Transfer it to WordPress.com.
I’ve already checked multiple times that it is registered with Automattic. I don’t want to pay $48 to talk to a human about getting my authorization code.WP.com: Yes

It looks like the issue you’re encountering might be because you’re not logged into the correct account. I checked our records and noticed that your domain is linked to a different account than the one you’re currently using to contact us.
In this case, you’ll need to log out of your current session and then log back in using another email address you may have used in the past. Once you’re in the correct account, you can transfer your domain by following this guide:
