domain transfer

  Someone was going to make a blog for me and so bought the domain name but under his user name and password.
  Now this person is not making my blog anymore and I would like to do it myself using the same domain name but under my user name and password.
  Is it possible to make like a transfer from property ?
  Can I use the domain name under my wordpress account ? And if yes how do we have to do ? Thank you. The domain name is carolinelittlestories.com

  Hi there!

  The domain name is registered to a WordPress.com site, so your site can be transferred to you. The person who’s set everything up is the current owner and will have to initiate the transfer.   Hello Stothek,

  Maybe you can help me with another problem!
  I succeded the transfer of the domain name from wordpress to OVH.
  Than I added the wordpress thing trough OVH.
  OVH sent me my username and password to access my dashboard but when I log in with the admin username and the password they gave me wordpress says: Admin not a valid username on WordPress.com, please try again with the correct username.

  Can you help me with that ?

  It looks like your blog is using the WordPress.org software from the open source WordPress.org project hosted on a third party site. Here’s a little bit more on those differences:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  This forum is dedicated to support sites hosted on the WordPress.com service. Because of that, most of the support documents don’t apply to sites hosted on third-party services, and the forum isn’t equipped to field the broad array of questions that come up with WordPress.org sites.

  You may get a much better response posting your questions to the WordPress.org support forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/

  You can sign up for a username and password on that site using the register button at the top of the page.

  Sounds like the Username and Password OVH provided you is access to their dashboard where you can control your domain settings, name servers, etc. Not your WordPress administration dashboard.
