Domain transfer

  Hi,

  I originally had a website and domain registered with Wix, but switched over to WP. This meant transferring domain reg to GoDaddy and mapping the domain via WP. Followed all instructions re DNS servers and paid for mapping.

  I know it can take up to 72 hours for all the changes to catch up however: sometimes I can view the WP site with the domain name (touchstonevintage.co.uk) but if I make any changes/posts etc when I go to view the site, the URL takes me back to my original Wix site. Is this normal for this kind of transfer and should I just wait or have I omitted something from the procedure?

  Hi Ian.

  I looked over your domain’s settings and everything looks correct on my end. As you noted, it can sometimes take up to 72 hours, though usually much less, for new information about a domain to propagate throughout the web. I think the resulting propagation time is what’s causing you to sometimes be redirected to Wix. Could you try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies? This might help speed things up. Let me know if you’re still having trouble after the propagation time, also.
