domain transfer
-
I registered a domain with you guys about a week ago because we were going to build our own website, but we recently partnered with a company that has a dev team so we’re allowing them the responsibility. We would like to know how can we register the domain name with another host since we’re not doing it with wordpress anymore. Can you help??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
It looks like you had registered officialhounddogg.com as your domain. That domain has since been cancelled from your account. When you cancel a domain, it will not become immediately available for registration elsewhere. A better option would be the following:
1. I’ll reach out to the registrar to return the domain to your account.
2. Once the domain is restored, I can help you change the name servers to point this domain elsewhere (you don’t have to use it at WordPress.com).
3. After 60 days, you can transfer the registration elsewhere.
Would that work? The alternative would be to wait for the domain to become available again, but that can take many weeks or even months.

Hey!
Let me see if I have this correct because it’s a little like what I was thinking.
1. Restore the domain name through wordpress account.
2. Map the domain name to current file host.
3. Transfer domain name to Host after the mandatory 60 day period.
If this is the recommendation, then it’s what seems is the best option besides the hassle of waiting two months.

Yep! You have it right. I’ll go ahead and request the domain be restored to your account. I’ll let you know when this is done!

Good news! I was able to recover your domain. You should see it here:
https://soncatwd.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
I’ve also sent a payment request to your email address for $26, which is the cost of the domain. Let me know if you do not receive it!
If you would like to now user your domain with an outside host, you can do that by changing the name servers as described here:
