    Hi,
    I have tried to map an existing domain to the new website I created in WordPress.
    I have created a site a t forumotoring.wordpress.com and want to map http://www.dyfc.ie to it.
    I looking at previous help it seems that this is something that is an issue with .ie domains and you guys have to do something.

    The error message I got when i tried to map it myself was ‘Sorry but dyfc.ie has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.’
    Can you guys effect please and advise me how I pay the associate Euro 13 fee.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    I have checked the email account and no email received yet.
    I’m assuming it is the email address associated with the wordpress account and not the domain?

    Thanks

    I am not sure if this is the correct thread in which to post this question– But, I’m not technically savvy; I used to have a site (www.michaelbutchin.com) with Workfolio. But WordPress is much more flexible and useful for me. I want to know how I can make my old web address link back to my WordPress site.

    Hi forumotoring,

    We’ve sent the email to the email address that you have on your WordPress.com account. I can see that you’ve already replied and that a colleague of mine has already sent you instructions for the domain and a manual payment form. You can complete the payment and reply to that email and we’ll take it from there.

    @mbutchin,

    I’m not all that familiar with Workfolio, but you can always create a site on WordPress.com and copy-paste the content of your old site into WordPress.com assuming that the WordPress import-export doesn’t work with Workfolio.

    As for your domain, I can see that you’ve already mapped the domain to your WordPress.com site. You just need to add the WordPress.com nameservers to your domain. The WordPress.com nameservers are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    You can request your domain registrar’s assistance in adding these to your domain. When they are added, within 72 hours the domain will start loading your WordPress.com site. Your domain registrar is the company where you registered the domain.

    Hope that helps.

    @ Aisajib:

    Thanks for your response. As I said, I am not really tech-savvy. Do I need to add those designations to the domain, eg. http://www.michaelbutchin.com.ns1.wordpress.com? And do I need to do that for the ns2 and ns3 in addition to the ns1?

    And how do I edit the domain I had mapped in?

    @mbutchin,

    You’ll add the WordPress.com nameservers to your domain registrar’s website. Your domain registrar is the company where you registered your domain. I can see that your domain was registered at http://www.heg.com , does that ring any bell? (You may have registered the domain from a reseller of this company so it may be different.

    Once you remember which company you registered your domain with, you can contact them and ask them to add the WordPress.com nameservers to your domain. They’ll be able to help you out.

    You can also send them a link to this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Thanks!
