domain transfer

  I’m trying to transfer a domain from WP.com (where I purchased it) but I am unable to complete the process outlined in the domain transfer support document. Specifically, the ‘domains’ tab is either non-existant or does not show the appropriate information.
  So are there any humans out there who can help a poor dumb guy out?

  That’s very strange!

  I should have it fixed now, can you give it another try? There is a slight chance you’ll need to log out and back in again. But try without first.

  Also, since the domain is expired, you will likely need to renew it before you can transfer it to another registrar.

  Thank you, the renewal part seems to have worked.
  I’ll go see about the domain transfer bit now.

  How long after I turn off privacy protection for my domain should I be able to edit the contact information for the WHOIS record?

  Should be fairly quickly.

  However, I caution you against editing that info prior to the transfer. Some domain changes can incur a 60 day waiting period to transfer due to ICANN rules.

  If I were you, I would transfer the domain to whatever registrar you intend to use first. Then update the registration info after the transfer is complete.

  Per the “Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar” and “Update Contact Info” support documents I need someone to disable privacy for my domain so that I may change the email address that the EPP code is sent to.
