I believe I am having difficulty transferring a domain because of my domain privacy settings. Can these be changed please?

Hi there. Here’s where I’m falling down. I’m going to domain transfer page, clicking on “Update Settings and Continue”- I get the following error: “An error occurred while trying to send the Domain Transfer Code. Please try again or contact support if you continue to have trouble”
So my next step is to go to domain admin and try to edit contact info, again I get the following error: “This domain is currently using Privacy Protection to keep your information from showing up in public record searches. If you need to make a change to your domain’s contact info, please contact support.”
So, I keep being directed here! Please help, I’m trying to transfer the domain.

I think the problem is because you’re not signed into the correct account. This user woolfordscott is not the owner of the domain. Try signing out of WordPress.com – go to https://wordpress.com/me and click Sign Out – then sign back into the other account.

Thanks Rachel, I logged into the correct account and was able to send the transfer code successfully.
Have changed my mind about that now and only want to update the DNS to point at new hosting site. Every time I change the name servers to custom, they default back to WP name servers. Any idea why? -

Hmm, I’m having problems too. It’s pending transfer and I’m unable to cancel the transfer. I’ll ask our developers to take a look and get back to you.

We were able to get your domain transfer cancelled and updated the name servers.
Your domain is already loading your new site for me, but if you don’t see it yet, wait a few hours and clear your browser cache, then it should work for you as well.
