Domain transfer
-
I tried to transfer my domain name from WordPress to another hosting site. I obtained the Authorization code and tried to process the transfer but it was denied (after I had deleted my account on wordpress) because of the fact that there was a 60 day ‘lock in’. I’m not entirely sure what that means but now my authorization code doesn’t work and I have no idea how to transfer my domain name. What do I do next?

It appears that you canceled your domain registration 2016-11-07.
Once canceled, a domain is out of your control and cannot be used or transferred. You will need to wait until the registrar releases it into the pool of available domains.
If you like, I can try and reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours.
If successful, you will need to re-purchase the yearly domain registration. Then you will be able to use the domain here on WordPress.com or point your domain to a new webhost using these instructions:
And once 60 days have passed, you can transfer it to a new registrar using these instructions:

Thanks very much for your help!
Yes if you could reverse that, it would really help. So if this is successful, I will have to wait 60 days to transfer it?
Thank you very much!

Hi Natalie –
I’ve sent a note to our domain partner asking that they restore soulspaceartstudio.com. I’ll post an update once I have more news from them.

Good news! We were able to get your domain name back. We’ll need to take care of a few more details before you’ll be able to transfer like you mentioned in your original message.
I’ve sent a message to the email address associated with your WordPress.com user account – could you please respond there so we can assist you further with this? Thanks! :)
