Domain Transfer

    I am having trouble transferring the domain I own back to its previous server. I had thisborrowedhome.com connected to my Wix site, before transferring it over to WordPress. I decided to go back to Wix, and thought removing the domain from WordPress would allow me to use my domain for Wix again. Now I’m being told I can lose my domain permanently? I’m not sure what I did wrong. Please help me transfer the domain I own back to my Wix site.

    Hi there,

    It looks like you’ve cancelled thisborrowedhome.com. Cancelling a domain means you give up ownership of it, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    Luckily it’s still early in the cancellation process, and I was able to restore the domain to your account so you can access it again.

    If you want to transfer the registration away from us to Wix, you can follow these steps to unlock your domain and get a transfer code:

    You’ll then need to submit that transfer code on Wix’s end to start the transfer there. Please contact their support for more information on how the process works on their side.

    Once the transfer completes, the upgrade will automatically be removed from your account with us, so you don’t need to manually cancel anything.
