Domain transfer

    Hello, I have just taken over this site (www.knowsaboutface.com) by the previous owner who longer works for the business. I need to transfer the domain from that site to another site by squarespace. I just need access to get an authorization code for transfer. However, I am having serious trouble logging in to the wordpress hosting site. Can someone please help me out with this? Or even expire/cancel the domain on that site so I can just repurchase?

    Hi there!

    I think there’s some confusion here. There are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

    The domain knowsaboutface.com is registered with Namecheap and the website itself is hosted on AWS.

    If you’re having trouble logging into the website via its login page, you would need to contact your host for help. Since they’re hosting the site, they also have access to the site install and are the ones who can help you here.

    If you just need to change the nameservers of the domain, you would need the account login information for Namecheap in order to do that.
