My domain registered with wordpress.com expired three months ago and I would like to buy it now from another registrar. However when I want to buy it, it says it’s taken. Does anyone know what I should do? Cheers

Once you let your domain expire, nobody can promise that you get it back. Please refer to the following support page to know what happens when your domain expires.

So I just tagged this thread for an assistance from staffs. Please clarify your domain name which is expired. It helps staffs to investigate your domain and assist you. Thanks!

Your domain(juliazolkiewska.com) is currently in the redemption period. Though I’m not sure that you can still get the domain back, WordPress.com staffs can investigate if the domain can be redeemed or not. Please wait for their assistances patiently.
Lastly, please make sure that your account which you are using now to post your question here is associated with the registration of your domain. Staffs need to identify you with the correct account.

juliazolkiewska.com expired on 2017-04-05 and is currently in the redemption period:
It’s still possible to try and recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular renewal costs ($18).
If you agree to these costs, I can generate a payment request for the amount and start the recovery process when we received your payment. Once the domain has been restored to your account, it can be transferred to another registrar.
If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but there is no guarantee you will be able to register it again.
Please let me know what you would like to do as soon as you can.
