domain transfer

  I purchased a domain from a host. I am not able to transfer it for 1 month. Can I begin drafting posts and designing my site using the free option on wordpress, then transfer my domain when eligible with out losing any work/posts?

  Hi!

  Yes, you can start building your site and then transfer your domain, you won’t lose any content. But keep in mind that to be able to transfer a domain you’ll need to suscribe to a plan. Check this page for info of the plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  If you are considering to suscribe to a plan, maybe you’ll be interested in having it now and map your domain while you wait to be able to transfer it. Here’s more info on that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  But, answering your question, the content and design you create for your site has nothing to do with the name of the site itself: if you change the name of a street, the houses in it stay the same, don’t they? :)
