  I want to transfer my existing domain name and design a website with WordPress

  Hi! There are two options for transferring the existing domain name you own to WordPress:

  1) You can transfer the domain over to WordPress.com so that you can manage your site and domain all in one place. You can read more about how to do that here:

  2) Or, you can keep your domain with your current registrar and map it to your WordPress site (which means it points your domain servers to your WordPress site, but billing and registration is still handled by your registrar). You can read the steps for that option here:

  Both options do require purchasing one of the upgraded WordPress plans.
