Domain transfer

  I would like to keep my domain with GoDaddy, but I currently have a website on WIX. What is the best way to transfer my site from WIX to WordPress using a domain from GoDaddy?

  Hi @poi072014, glad you asked! Here is what I would do:

  1. Start with a new Personal or Premium site (or a Business plan if you need those features). Don’t add the domain yet — you’ll do that at the end.

  2. Use these steps to move your content over: https://transferto.wordpress.com/wix

  3. Once your content is moved and you have the site set up as you like, map the domain with these steps:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
