Domain Transfer
-
I have just purchased the domain, which is why my current registrar (NameBright) doesn’t allow the transfer until Aug-12.
Can I map the domain to WordPress now to be able to work on it, and once allowed by the NameBright – transfer it completely? I couldn’t find the tutorial on how to tranfer already added and mapped domains.
Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can not transfer the domain for 60 days from your registration date. As there is a lock period of 60 days. This locking period is required by ICANN. Read more here.
For transfer a domain, read this link.

Are you planning on using your domain with your new WordPress.com site https://kidsplore.travel.blog/ It would have been easier to register the domain right here. However you can still use it here by purchasing a Personal plan or higher and then you’ll be able to map your domain to your WordPress.com site initially and then transfer it later.

Yes you can map your domain for first 60 days and then transfer it. Follow these steps to do it.
If you have any doubt, we’ll be happy to help you.
Cheers.

Hi elenaydroth,
I just wanted to confirm that if you purchase a plan and map the domain now, it can be transferred to WordPrerss.com in August at no extra cost — the transfer cost will be covered by the plan. The transfer instructions will be the same:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
After the first year, your domain will renew at the regular price listed here (based on the extension):
I hope this helps.
