Domain transfer

  If I transfer my domain to WordPress, does this mean that my existing (Webs.com) website will simply move from its current domain host to WordPress?
  Can I then continue to edit the old site in Webs.com, while I design a new site on WordPress to replace it?

  The content of your site will need exporting/importing separately (if possible).
