Domain transfer being denied by Wild West Domains to bluehost?

    I am trying to transfer my blog from wp.com to wp.org. I have hosting through Bluehost.com. My domain transfer to them has been rejected by Wild West Domains. I have contacted WWD, and they have said I need to contact you. I followed every step in the process, including retrieving the key, and un-privatizing the domain, changing nameservers, etc. Can you assist? This process began on 10.23.11. I have read on bluehost that it should have auto transferred in one week. Obviously that didn’t happen.

    Could you please carefully follow the steps in this guide. Also let me know on which of these steps you get stuck?

    I have completed all of the steps in the guide. I unlocked, I had the code emailed to me, and provided that to BlueHost. I just never get the email saying the transfer will be completed if no action is taken. And, when I try to transfer it manually, it says on Bluehost that Wild West Domains has rejected the transfer. I called Wild West Domains, and they said I needed to contact you. I’m confused as to what is holding up this whole thing? And what else I might need to do.

    You currently have Private Registration on your domain, which is blocking the transfer.

    I have disabled that, so you should be able to transfer it now.

    thanks so much. I thought I did that, or something else to do with privacy. At any rate, I’m still having the same issue. Does it take a while to go into effect? My domain has not moved to “pending transfers”, at wordpress.com.

    At bluehost, it still says “According to the Gaining and Losing Registrars, it appears that the codes you’ve supplied were correct. Once you tell the Losing Registrar (the current Registrar for grumpysleepyandbashful.com) to release the domain, we will be able to accept the domain into your account. You should receive an email from the Losing Registrar asking you to approve or decline this request. Please follow the instructions and ACCEPT the transfer. If you choose to DECLINE the transfer, you might be able to receive a refund within 90 days if you contact customer service. You may also have to contact or to login to your old registrar to manually release the domain. Otherwise, if you can just wait 7 days, the Losing Registrar should release the domain automatically.”

    Yeah, I recommend waiting a few hours, or maybe until tomorrow even, then initiate the transfer again: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar
