Domain transfer blocked by third-party registrar. Help!
-
I am transferring my domain to another provider, but regisrar, Wild Wild West (of whom I’ve never heard) is refusing to allow the transaction through. The website on the other end is configured, I just need Wild Wild West to release MY domain to MY new host so that I can get on with my life.
Please let me know if you need any details and I’ll be happy to assist.

No problem. I can help you make that happen.
First off, have you followed the instructions here:
If you have, did you have trouble with any particular step? Or were you able to get all the way through?

Thanks for your help. Yes, I read through that document as my guideline several times. When I signed up with WordPress, there was no mention of “Wild West” domains. Anyway, I got it to the point that Bluehost has as all the records ready, but just need Wild West’s approval to switch name servers.
So to answer your question:
1) Yes, I completed all the steps without trouble
2) I somehow managed to navigate through the mess of your documentation (much of which doesn’t apply to your current version of WP) and get my domain “transferred” to Blue Host (i,e, they think they are the DNS host for my domain (timguyking.com) But they can’t complete the transaction because, and I quote: “Registrar: Wild West Domains, Inc.

So the first place to start is probably canceling your “private registration” upgrade. As it says on that support page I linked to:
To start the transfer, you’ll first have to cancel private registration of the domain
Blocking any unauthorized transfers is one of the functions of domain privacy services. So they must be canceled before you can transfer. Instructions:
If you have Private Registration, go to Store → My Upgrades in your dashboard, find the domain you want to transfer, and click on Cancel Private Registration. You will then be asked to confirm the cancellation. Click on Cancel Privacy Upgrade to confirm and cancel private registration.
Once you get that canceled, please give the transfer another try. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Also, for clarification, Wild West Domains is our domain registrar partner. So while I understand the confusion, allow me to confirm to you that they are a legitimate organization and not a third party causing trouble.
