Domain transfer – "Cancel", "Unlock" options not available

  I am trying to initiate the transfer of my domain from WordPress.com to a new registrar (Heart Internet). According to this guide (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/) I select My Upgrades and unlock the domain. However, the “Cancel private registration” option is not available. In fact, no options are available beneath my status update. Nor are there options presented in the next step of the guide to “Transfer ownership to another registrar”.

  Is this because the domain was recently renewed (expires now December 6 2014)? And, if so, will I have to wait out the 60-day period before I can move the domain away from WordPress?

  The account you are posting from does not have any WordPress.com upgrades associated with it. Looking into it further, I can see that the domain was purchased under another WordPress.com user account. You will need to log into that account in order for the options you are looking for to be available.
