Domain Transfer Failed

    The domain swapnplay.org was purchased through WordPress and the registrar is listed as Wild West Domains. We have tried to transfer this domain to a new domain registrar, BlueHost. We followed the provided instructions but still hitting a wall. Initiated transfer via WordPress account, got the code, input code on new host account. I received an email from WordPress saying:

    “The transfer of swapnplay.org from WordPress.com to another registrar could not be completed for the following reason(s): “

    There is no reason listed. It is blank.

    At BlueHost it states the following:

    Current Status: Rejected by 5237-ww

    “There seems to have been a problem contacting the gaining registrar in order to request the transfer.”

    Domain is unlocked. Privacy is OFF.

    Any ideas?

    No, this has not been resolved. Web hosting is fine and that is not the issue. Domain Name Transfer is the issue.

    There’s nothing on our end that would prevent the domain from being transferred. Based on that message there might have been a temporary outage at the registrar at the time you tried to transfer.

    Can you please try initiating the transfer again on Bluehost’s end? Let me know if it fails again.

    Just retried (got new code, input on BlueHost, etc) and received the same following response from WordPress:

    “The transfer of swapnplay.org from WordPress.com to another registrar could not be completed for the following reason(s):

    If you believe that this domain name does not fit the situation described above, go to http://help.secureserver.net?prog_id=391143&isc=apibb2179&ci=92982&cvosrc=bounceback.2179.apibb2179 for assistance.

    The reason area is blank, no reason given.

    BlueHost says this:

    There seems to have been a problem contacting the gaining registrar in order to request the transfer.
    You may try again by clicking below or contact support if this problem persists.

  • Thanks for trying. I’ll email our registrar to find out if there’s anything wrong on their end. I’ll let you know what they say.

    Status has been updated to:

    “Rejected by Losing Registrar”

    Attempted transfer again today and still failed.

  • I’m still waiting on a reply from our registrar. It looks like they placed a lock on your domain, and I’ve asked them to remove it. You won’t be able to transfer the domain until they do, so I need to ask you to please be patient until we hear back from them.

    It looks like there had been some mixup at our registrar and it took a while to sort out, but you should be able to transfer the domain now. Can you please try again and let me know if it still gives an error?
