My WordPress.com domain expired, and I bought it from Hostinger. However, I forgot to check the authorization code before it expired. I am also unable to unlock the domain on WordPress. When I try, it says “Unable to fetch details.” I checked further and found that I had deleted the domain details from WordPress. Still, I am not able to get my domain working again.

Hostinger says that I need to provide the authorization code. Can you please help me get my domain working again?

    Now

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

I checked further and found that I had deleted the domain details from WordPress. Still, I am not able to get my domain working again.

I’ve restored that for you. The domain is expired, though, so you’ll want to hurry and try again before it goes into any redemption process. If there’s any doubt, I’d recommend renewing it, as I’m sure you know any years you add here will go with you to your new provider.

Let us know if you need more help!

    Hi there,

I checked your domain, and it’s currently in auction. During that period, it’s not possible to transfer it or make any other changes to it. If the domain is not sold at the auction, it’ll be released on September 9, and you’ll be able to renew it or transfer it. You can learn more about domain auctions here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#expiry-auction

Also, I wanted to explain something else. You mentioned that you have purchased that domain from Hostinger. That’s not possible as it is still registered through us. What you probably have bought from them is a plan that allows you to transfer a domain.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you very much for the clarification.

what does it mean by auction ??

Is it possible if someone will buy it during auction ?

Do I need to renew it before 9th September so that it won’t be auctioned??

what does it mean by auction ??
Is it possible if someone will buy it during auction ?

When a domain is in auction, it means that it is being sold to the highest bidder, just like how items like paintings can be sold at an auction. People bid their price, and when the auction ends, the person who offered the most money gets the domain.

If no bids are placed during the auction period, the domain is released and then you’ll be able to repurchase it.

Do I need to renew it before 9th September so that it won’t be auctioned??

The domain is currently in auction and if not sold, it will be released on September 9. At the moment there’s nothing you can do.

    Hello There.

I can see my domain is available now to renew but WordPress is charging high “Domain Late Renewal Fee” . Can I just transfer the domain without renewing it?

The domain can’t be transferred while it’s in redemption. Please see this article for more details, but in short at this point you can either renew with the redemption fee, or allow the process to continue and assume any risk that comes with that.

This guide explains what happens when a domain expires. Most of the same information also applies when a domain is actively canceled. When Does a Domain Expire? When you register your domain (e.g. yourgroovydomain.com) with WordPress.com, you purchase the right to use that domain for as long as you keep the registration active. Domain registration terms are annual so your domain will

If you decide to pay the redemption fee, let us know whether you’d like an invoice for that. Thanks!
