Domain transfer, failing to unlock domain

    Hello, I’m trying to transfer my domain dolceitaliaphotography.com from wordpress.com to hostgator. So i proceed with the transfer….by clicking on ‘TRANSFER DOMAIN’ first and then ‘UPDATE SETTINGS AND CONTINUE’. Then i get this message: ‘Your domain is unlocked to prepare for transfer.
    We have sent the transfer authorization code to the domain registrant’s email address…’etc… etc….’
    The problem is that i don’t get any email with the transfer code. I checked spam folder also.
    I tried this procedure yesterday and today also. I repeated for hours and hours.
    So, the result is that my domain is still Locked.

    Ps: Maybe it has something to do with the fact that i deleted my domain yesterday and was recovered by someone of your staff 4-5 hours later. (i just thought that by deleting the domain in wordpress.com, it would be free right away to be used with hostgator)
