Domain transfer from another provider (.ca)

  Why is my domain which is a .ca …can’t be transferred over (it only offer the option of connect it) the transfer I’m trying to do is to wordpress from shopify … the only option it provides is a 120 or 240$ a year deal .. which is no deal at all :)

  Incoming transfers
  We do not currently accept incoming domain transfers for .ca domains…

  Even though we cannot accept incoming .ca domain transfers, you’re still welcome to connect it by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  I hope I’m doing this the proper way .. so to connect it and not transfer it ..right?!

  HI there,

  That’s right. On the domains screen, select the option to connect a domain you already own, and you’ll be able to add your .ca domain.

  You’ll also need to point the domain to us from your domain provider – once you’ve added the domain connection upgrade you’ll be taken to a screen that explains the next steps, or you can also find those instructions in the page staff-blorbo linked to above.
