Domain transfer from dayanahost (shut down site)

  My domain host — dayanahost — has shut down. They told me that my domain was active for up to 3 more years but I can’t find a link that works to transfer my domain — jonbyrd.com — from dayanahost.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Currently, we do not accept incoming domain transfers so it won’t be possible to transfer the domain jonbyrd.com from dayanhost to WordPress.com. Since it sounds like dayanhost is shutting down, I would recommend the following:

  1. Transfer the domain to another registrar like Bluehost so you can keep the registration active after dayanhost shuts down.
  2. Complete the mapping by changing the name servers on your domain to point to WordPress.com as described here:

     http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#how-to-change-your-name-servers

  I apologize for the misunderstanding. You’ll still need to transfer your domain to another registrar before setting the name servers to point to WordPress.com.

  I transfered the domain name [ jonbyrd.com ] to Blue Host.
  Bluehost is now my domain host.

  Now what?

  Now, you’ll just need to change your name servers as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#how-to-change-your-name-servers
