domain transfer from siteground to wordpress

  i purchased a domain on siteground and need it transferred to wordpress but it isn’t letting me do so. it is telling me that I must wait a certain amount of time before I can do the transfer. Why is this happening?

  Hi juandiegovirtualianet,

  You must wait 60 days after the initial registration to initiate a transfer to another host. This is applicable to all ICANN-accredited registrars, and nothing can be done to expedite the process.

  Hi juandiegovirtualianet,

  Newly registered domains are transfer locked for the first 60 days. This lock is standard practice and required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) — it cannot be waived.

  If you need to use the domain before then, it can be connected to your WordPress.com site with domain mapping:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  As @yashitamittal11 mentioned, the transfer process can be started once those 60 days have passed.
