Domain transfer from squarespace to wordpress
-
I have been working on a new WordPress site to replace my current Squarespace site. My plan has been to transfer my Squarespace domain to my new WordPress site (I have obtained my domain from third party, Hover).
I might have really messed up. Earlier today I changed my WordPress address and site address in WordPress general settings. Then I disconnected the domain from my Squarespace. Now my WordPress site that I had been working on doesn’t seem to exist anymore and I can’t get into WordPress… I tried reconnecting to my Squarespace site and I am getting a “Connection in Progress” signal. I lookup my domain online the result is a page that says “This website is pending domain owner verification.”
Can somebody help me properly move my domain name from Squarespace to WordPress so I can use my new site? Does anybody know if I can recover my lost progress on new WordPress site development? Everything I had appears to be nonexistent now.

Hi!
Please see this support I found that explains how to transfer a domain you already own.

Hi,
It looks like your site is using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but is hosted with another webhost. In your case, this appears to be bluehost.
We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us here at WordPress.com. For help with a WordPress site hosted elsewhere you’ll need to ask over at the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Depending on the level of support that is included with your hosting plan, your webhost’s support team may also be able to assist.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the open-source WordPress software you can read this article:

However…
Allow me to use this opportunity to say that if you WERE hosted here at WordPress.com, you would have access to 24/7 WordPress specific assistance from a world-class support team and we could likely get this sorted out for you.

We have a guide to help move your site to WordPress.com here and our support team can also assist:

With all that said, this page may be helpful in your situation. It is a pretty common mistake to make:
