Domain transfer from wordpress to another host

Hello,
I would like to transfer my domain juliannebigler.com to another host. When I follow the steps and click the ‘transfer to another registrar’ link I get the following message:
‘Due to recent contact information updates, this domain has a transfer lock that expires on August 20, 2022.’
I updated my contact information because I no longer have access to my original email account. My two questions are:
1) I thought domain transfer locks were for 60 days, why is my domain transfer locked for two years? How can I unlock it?
2) Since I no longer have the original email address, how can I click the contact information change confirmation email that was sent to it?

When you updated the contact info, there was a way to opt-out of the transfer lock.
Worry not, there’s still a way. The trick is… to trigger the contact info update again – this time making sure to opt out of the 60-day lock. It is very important to actually change one of the main four fields when doing so (adding a letter or whatever is fine): first name, last name, organization or email; otherwise this will not work.

As I mentioned, the lock isn’t the standard 60 days, it’s for two years (until Aug 20th, 2022). When I update my contact info there is no option to opt out of a lock, and I receive no emails because (presumably) I don’t have access to my old email account to confirm the changes.
I’m at a loss for how to proceed. -

Thank you again for responding, I really appreciate it. If we are unable to transfer the domain name to another host I guess I’ll have to make a new one and redirect to it, but hopefully we can get it worked out here.

I have written to our domain partners to revoke the transfer lock. It will take a day or two for them to check and fix this.
In the meantine, as staff-blorbo mentioned, you can check the new Name Server settings needed by your host. That needs to be fixed in the domain settings here using these steps:

These steps allow you to point the domain wherever you like within 72 hours, even before its billing and future renewals are transferred to another provider.

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear back from our domain provider.
Meanwhile, I notice you’ve also updated your contact info on the domain. Please make sure you verify that via the email you should have received from our domain provider. Failure to verify will cause your domain to be suspended, which would also prevent you from transferring it.

The transfer lock has been removed from your domain. As kokkieh mentioned above, please check for your email to verify your email so the domain does not get suspended.

Hi,
I’ve waited a week and the two year domain lock is still in place. I did verify my email four days ago (on the 8th).
