Domain transfer in progress, but domain disappeared from list

    Hello, I have initiated the transfer of a domain I own. This domain name is paid until November, so it shouldn’t have an issue, but recently I noticed it has disappeared from the list of wordpress domains that I own, and only the .wordpress.com is listed. Will this disrupt the transfer?

    Hi ucalgaryio. Are you transferring a domain name away from WordPress of to WordPress from another registrar? Also, what is the domain name that you are trying to transfer?

    Hi, I’m transferring it away from wordpress to another registar. the domain name is ucalgaryio.com. Thanks for your help!

    I did a WhoIs search and it seems that the domain has been transferred to wildwestdomains.com. It appears that the transfer went through successfully but if you want to use it as your site’s URL on WordPress.com you have to upgrade your WordPress package and apply Domain Mapping. To do so:

    – Go to Domains page
    – Click Upgrade next to ‘Already Own a Domain”
    – Add the domain name
    – Update DNS on new Registrar to
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    I think the wildwestdomains was wordpress’s registar for the custom domain I purchased from WordPress (when I requested the transfer it had wildwestdomains listed as the registar).

    Thanks for the information! I’ll go through it now to try and have the domain mapped correctly to the site for now until the transfer is complete.

    I apologize; you are right. Sorry about that.

    Did you receive an email with a transfer code after initializing the transfer?

    If you did and were able to successfully complete all steps in the transfer process, it really becomes awaiting game (of about 5-7 days). You should then be able to update nameservers and other information as needed.
