Domain transfer issue – Wildwest Domains

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hey
I purchased the domain http://www.aishwaryaarumbakkam.com through wordpress. I’m trying to to transfer this domain to hover to use for my new format based website. When I try to do that, it says I need to unlock my domain at WILD WEST DOMAINS to proceed.
When I access the wild west domain site it asks for my username and password to access my account. I have never used it before. When I try to retrieve my username using the forgot option, it follows all the steps till submit but nothing happens after that. I have not received any email either.
Also, upon writing to Wildwest Domains support they replied saying they cannot support this issue and it has to be solved by wordpress.
Please suggest a solution for this.
    Thank you

  • Hi there,

You cancelled that domain on 10 January and deleted the site to which it was attached. You can’t transfer a domain you don’t own, and you stopped owning it when you cancelled it.

If you still want that domain, please confirm, and I can contact our registrar and try to get it back for you. Once they’ve restored it you’ll be able to transfer it to a different registrar.

This is also a problem for my partner and I. We had aulenor.com registered via WordPress, but (without any notice of cancellation we can find) our domain is now down, our email is down with it, and we can’t find anything that we can fix via WordPress or Wild West Domains LLC (which we found while doing a reverse lookup).

We need to access the original registration record, re-set and transfer it so that this doesn’t happen again. Appreciate your fast response on this!

  • @ngiste

The first notification that your domain and Premium Plan was going to expire was sent on 17 September, and several after that. If you did not receive them, they might have been filtered or spammed by Gmail.

That domain is now in redemption with our registrar. It is still possible to get it back, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. I’ll need you to agree to that fee before I can get the recovery process started.

I see you also have another domain, cog-itations.com, which expired 28 days ago. That domain hasn’t been removed from our system yet, so you should be able to renew it yourself via the Purchases page. However, as it is so far expired a late fee will apply to its renewal as well.

We’re fine paying the $80 fee to recover the domain from redemption-land! Can you please make sure to contact ngiste.abebe[at]gmail.com and cc caitlin.howarth[at]gmail.com with further info? No emails seem to be reaching me w/ updates (including on this thread).

We so appreciate the quick response via this forum and thank you for your rapid help in resolving this. No idea what happened to those notifications, we definitely seem to have an over-active Gmail spam filter on our hands.

  • It looks like my colleague has already been helping you via email as well. We’ve received your payment and your domain has already been restored.

No idea what happened to those notifications, we definitely seem to have an over-active Gmail spam filter on our hands.

Gmail often filters emails to the Social or Updates folder as well, causing them to bypass your inbox completely. Perhaps look if our emails aren’t ending up there. If you drag them from those folders into the inbox, Gmail should stop filtering them in future.

  • Hi again. Sorry, I was looking at your other domain, cog-itations.com, not aulenor.com. We’ve emailed our registrar to restore that domain and will follow up via email once it’s restored.
