How to transfer my domain name to another registrar?

  I purchased my domain from wordpress.com. I was told by my developer that I should use wordpress.org. I then put in for a domain transfer with GoDaddy. GoDaddy needs the auth. code, but I am unable to get it via your instructions.
  I go to manage my domain. I put in my customer number and password and it won’t let it says that authentication failed. I have reset my password, etc… I have been on tech support with GoDaddy, etc… trying to get this figured out. PLEASE HELP!
