domain transfer successful but can't load page on home wifi

    Hi,

Today I transferred my domain to my wordpress account. I changed the name servers and apparently my new site is working fine but when I try to load it on my laptop, phone, girlfriend’s laptop, anything connected to our wifi, the OLD site loads from my previous host.
I tried rebooting the modem, rebooting computers, emptying cache, etc but nothing changes. If I disconnect my phone from wifi and use my 4G phone data the NEW website loads fine, but if I reconnect to the wifi, the OLD site loads again. I also loaded the new site just fine when I used a proxy website.
Just checking the addresses.. on my phone using 4G telstra data when I type my site in the address bar, it changes from http to https and the site loads fine but if I add the ‘s’ on my laptop (connected to wifi) I get an error “Your connection is not secure – The owner of http://www.blackknightbjj.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.”
What is the issue? Is it just because WordPress hasn’t installed an SSL certificate yet? Or am I missing something? Keep in mind I am a noob at this whole experience.
    Thanks

    Hi @blackknightbjj,

Congrats on transferring the domain! When I look at the site I see this: http://d.pr/i/ZWCwMO . Is that the new site? I looked at your WHOIS listing at this link and I see that the transfer changes were done today.

What is the most likely scenario is your wifi carrier/internet service provider may not have updated their filters to see the new site yet. When changing Name Servers it can take from 24-72 hours for everything to successfully change across the world, so one carrier might work and another may take longer. It should still work though it will just take time. This excerpt from your post:

If I disconnect my phone from wifi and use my 4G phone data the NEW website loads fine, but if I reconnect to the wifi, the OLD site loads again.

confirms it as one carrier can see it :)

What is the issue? Is it just because WordPress hasn’t installed an SSL certificate yet?

This is just part of the Name Servers updating, and should resolve itself when the carrier updates their settings. The site is secured since you and I can see it on a different carrier without issues on https://

Also, you may claim you are a noob but you are wonderful at troubleshooting these items! Awesome detective work! :) If you still have trouble seeing the site in a day or so on your wifi carrier you should be able to contact them to get it refreshed on their end. Let me know how it goes!
