Domain transfer troubke
-
I’m in the process of transferring my site from a WordPress.org to a wordpress.com site, and everything has gone well except with the transfer of my domain name.
I’m transferring my domain name (veronicamcdonald.com) and it says it’s “active” but that I need to use the WordPress nameservers. I have! But it still says it. It also will not let me change the “Contact deatails,” the option won’t even show up on the screen even when I use a different browser or my phone. The site I’m working on is veronicamcdonaldcom.wordpress.com. I’m not sure what to do, I’m totally stuck.
I also accidentally paid for the domain transfer, even though I found out I could have done it for free with the purchase of a plan (which I did purchase). Not sure if there’s anything I can do about that?
Thank you for any help you can give me,
– Veronica

Hi Veronica,
Your domain veronicamcdonald.com has been successfully transferred to us and is now using our nameservers. However, there was a small hiccup – it still had the A records from Bluehost, which was why it wasn’t correctly pointing to your WordPress.com site. But no worries, I’ve taken care of that for you. I’ve updated the A records to point to WordPress.com, so your domain should now be correctly pointing to your site veronicamcdonaldcom.wordpress.com.
To make veronicamcdonald.com your site’s primary address, simply follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/set-a-primary-address/.
About the domain transfer fee, I understand that you paid for the transfer before realizing it could have been free with your plan purchase, so I’ve issued a refund for the domain purchase amount.
