Domain Transfer vs Domain Mapping

    Hi WordPress:

    Greetings!

    I would like to ask about domain transfer and domain mapping.

    We bought our domain from Wix several years ago and the latest renewal was December 2020. We also availed of the wix premium upgrade for an online store.

    1. Which is more advisable? Domain transfer or domain mapping? And is it advisable to do domain transfer/mapping while our online store is still with wix?
    2. If we are do domain transfer, would the online store from wix premium upgrade not be affected (ie. still function uninterrupted as is)?
    3. If we are do domain mapping, would the online store from wix premium upgrade not be affected (ie. still function uninterrupted as is)?
    4. Based on your website, if we are to transfer domains, the domain rate is Php 990.00 per year. What are the rates for domain mapping?

    I would also like to inquire about email hosting using our domain. Do you also offer that service? May I also inquire of the rates?

    However, whether you map your domain or move your domain to WordPress.com, once you start using that domain here, it will cease to work on your Wix site. We can’t advise on what option is better, however, so that is a choice you will need to make.

    I’m not familiar Wix’s site policies and if you can have a site there without a domain, so you would need to contact their support to see what your options are there with your domain and upgrades.
