Domain Transfering

  We want to keep our website design we have now up till we have the new website design done and ready to publish. Can we do that if we transfer the domain? Or once we transfer that is it? http://www.ultrainsights.com

  Hi –

  Yes, you can do this.

  Go ahead and build the site on your free .wordpress.com site address. Once it is all ready you can connect the domain through mapping or a transfer.

  Mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  At that point, the domain will then show your WordPress.com site, but not before the connection is made.

  Lastly, some folks like to keep their work in progress under wraps until it’s all ready to go. Here’s how you can do that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
