Domain Transfers

  I bought a domain but can’t transfer it to WordPress for 60 days. If I started with a free account & used a different domain just to build my site out a bit, could I upgrade to a paid account after the 60 days & switch to the purchased domain?

  Hi, yes, you can.

  I’d recommend creating a site on the Free Plan first (which means your address will be ____.wordpress.com or ___.(supportedword).blog).

  After sixty days, you could purchase the plan, which comes with a free domain credit. With that credit, you can transfer a domain to WordPress.com. None of the content on your site will be affected, so you could just build out your site as you intend to.
