Domain Transfers to WordPress.com
-
I did this once before with my other blog/domain name and it worked. However, with this one, I cannot for the life of me remember what to do! I went over old emails and over old forum discussions, but unfortunately I’m still pretty much clueless.
With my old blog, I bought it from GoDaddy.com and have an old receipt in my email saying that I transferred it over. GoDaddy charged me $7.19 to transfer my domain someplace else (I’m assuming to WordPress), and I don’t think I paid WordPress.com anything at all. Right now my domain name and that WordPress.com blog are completely together and look great.
With this one, I’m purchasing gabrielleandtaraswedding.com and already have gabrielleandtaraswedding.wordpress.com and I’m trying to do the same thing that I did before. What do I need to do? I’d love to do the same thing! How do you transfer your domain name to WordPress.com?
Thanks so much! I’m trying to get these webpages up!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@taratheobald, if the only thing you plan to use your new domain for is a WordPress.com blog, it’s cheaper and easier to register it through WordPress.com rather than another registrar. All the nameserver stuff is done for you.
Just go to the Upgrades / Domains tab of your wp-admin dashboard in gabrielleandtaraswedding.wordpress.com, and follow the prompts.

Maybe I’m misreading this, but you don’t have to transfer a domain you own to WordPress.com to use it with your WordPress.com blog. You can just purchase the WordPress.com domain mapping upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
