Domain Upgrade Did Not Go Through

  • Unknown's avatar

I tried to pay for my domain and customization upgrade but it didn’t go through. I’m hesitating putting my credit card information in there twice, however. My domain expires tomorrow and my customization upgrade expires today. I’ve emailed upgrades [at] wordpress [dot] com already, and it’s been at least twenty minutes, so I don’t think there’s a delay in the card charge. What’s the next step? Try again?

    Thanks!

The next step is to wait patiently for Staff to respond and that response will not be minutes away. There are millions of of us bloggers and only about 225 Staff.

Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

Don’t create a new thread or send in another email for support either because that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.

    Bottom line: Patience is virtue.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and associated email address that registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade, to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Store > My Upgrades and renew any upgrades for the blog.

When I said “twenty minutes,” I wasn’t implying I was expecting a lightning-fast response from anyone. What I meant was that I wasn’t sure if I should put my card info in there again. I wasn’t sure if it was a fault on my end or what.

I’m appreciative that you all are doing work– especially today; the curt response was weird.

    Thank you again.

Also, I was logged in as Admin and my email address is the appropriate one.

Oh good! Others actually do expect instant assistance – no kidding!

BTW I’m not curt … lol :D I am Canadian. So I’m plain speaking. No offense was intended, I just I don’t pad my answers on support forums with fluff. :)

Staff will respond to your email support ticket as soon as they can. Best wishes with this.

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the trouble renewing your Premium plan and domain. I checked your account, and we don’t have any recorded payments for renewing those upgrades. Can you please try that renewal payment again?

If you have any more trouble with it, or if you get any specific errors in the process, please let me know.

    Hi,

I’ve tried it a few times, and the message I keep receiving is that I’m ordering things that aren’t included in my bundle. Perhaps I’m getting that message because my bundle has expired? I tried going to the store and buying it that way, but I got a message saying that I already had this bundle. Should I try purchasing from my dashboard again?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for explaining. Instead of ordering it as a new upgrade, please try using the “Renew Now” button next to the WordPress.com Premium plan on your My Upgrades page.

If you run into trouble with that, you can also use the “Renew Now” button under Store > My Upgrades in your site’s dashboard.

Please let me know how that goes. :)

    Hi,

Ordering from My Upgrades worked. Thanks for taking the time out to help.

    Much appreciated!
