Domain verification
-
Hello,
could you please advise how to verify a domain ownership with free plan (is that possible?)
I have followed instructions to add txt to DNS configuration, but I do not see any domain settings in domains tab.
Thank you in advance!BB
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi BB,
The domain verification process only applies to custom domains, not free WordPress.com addresses like piekniejszepodroze.wordpress.com. Can you tell me more about your end goal for making these DNS changes?

Hello Gemmacevans,
Thank you for your response. My end goal was to make my page visible – it seems that Google won’t see it despite of the fact I made it public. I read that I need to use Google Webmastertools to perform primary check and this tool requires domain verification process.
I am not certain, but maybe I just need to wait as my site is quite new.
Many thanks,

Hi Beata,
I see you only set your site to public four days ago. It can take weeks for search engines to index a new site, and that process will only have started once you set your site to public. So this is not a case of Google not seeing it, but simply that your site hasn’t been online long enough yet to be indexed by any search engines, and to start showing up in search results.
Verifying your site in Search Console can’t hurt, but ultimately the best thing you can do at this point is publish new content on your site regularly, at least a few times a week, and be patient. More info here:

A TXT record is just one possible way to verify a domain with Search Console, and that way is only possible if you have a custom domain; it cannot be used for a free WordPress.com address. For a WordPress.com site you can instead use the meta tag for verification. We have detailed instructions how to do that here:

Hello kokkieh,
Thank you for your response – I find it very useful. I will familiarize myself with above subjects and will try to publish posts more often to see the result.
Kindest regards,
