Domain Verification for Google Merchant Center

    Hello,
    I am trying to verify my domain with Google Merchant Center. I have tried following the instructions at this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/verifying-your-domain-with-google/ . Step 1 says to select alternate methods >domain name provider. However, I do not see this option listed under Google’s alternate methods.

    Please let me know of any other methods of verification.

    Hi there,

    The instructions you refer to are for verifying a site with Google’s Search Console, not Merchant Center which is a completely different product.

    As it’s all Google, verifying with Search Console might serve as verification for their Merchant Center – it works for Youtube verification – but if not, you’ll likely need a plugin for that.

    I also notice you do not own any sites in this WordPress.com account, so I suspect you’re actually using the open source WordPress software rather than WordPress.com, in which none of the documentation published here applies to your site.
