domain? which works better with wordpress? will 1 give me more traffic?
-
i purchased the domain: marnacahnfinearts.org. In reading some of your material, it occurred to me that I should have perhaps purchased the marnacahnfinearts.com in order for wordpress to work better. Am I correct in that understanding? If so, how do I go about changing the domain to .com or is this unnecessary?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Using .org and .com for your custom domain name is really a personal preference. Whatever you think is going to be easier for your readers to remember and share is the way to go. Neither is better than the other from a technical standpoint.
You can probably find a lot of material distinguishing between WordPress.org and WordPress.com — as they’re actually two separate entities that are very similar. Not just because of the “.org” and “.com” name, but because the two sites do different things.
If you would like to switch from marnacahnfinearts.org to marnacahnfinearts.com, we’d just need to cancel your current domain and register you for the new one. I can help with that if you’d like. :)
Let me know!

Hi there,
The custom domains of marnacahnfinearts.org and marnacahnfinearts.com won’t function any differently. It’s just a matter of what your readers will need to type in to reach your site.
We can do the switch, but all that entails is removing the first domain and adding the second. According to our records you registered marnacahnfinearts.org 8 days ago on 2015-10-12. Domain registrations can only be refunded for 48 hours, so if you’d like to switch to marnacahnfinearts.com, I’d still need to charge you for the new domain. You’d actually be better off to just keep both for the year and then only renewing the domain you prefer after that.
So if you’d rather use marnacahnfinearts.com, you’ll just need to go to your Store > My Domains page, and click “Register a new domain.”
Of course if you’d rather not pay again, marnacahnfinearts.org is a perfectly good domain name too.
Best,
-Alex G.
