Domain without the (wordpress word)

Dear Support good day,
In reference to the above subject I would like to inform you that I have recently tried to buy the “add a domain and mapping feature” so when somebody visits my blog to type directly in to the browser “www.jewelsinspired.com” and not “www.jewelsinspired.wordpress.com”.
As soon as I registered, when I typed the “www.jewelsinspired.com” I got a server not found msg from Firefox, therefore I cancelled the payment.
I live in a country that a lot of people (including the ones the want to visit my blog) have problems with the internet when they have to type long blog names.
Would you be so kind to assist me in this matter?
My intention is to procure the whole package and create a professional looking web site but unless I resolve this I cannot proceed.

Hi Marie! Domain registrations and mappings often take several hours to take effect. If you didn’t allow sufficient time between registering and checking the domain, that might have been the issue.

it can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – you will be the last one to see the changes
remember you need to buy the domain name and domain map it.
